I just finished Season 2, and I think I liked it even better than Season 1.
Notes, Thoughts & Questions on Season 2:
Notes, Thoughts & Questions on Season 2:
- I really hate the Thighs. At first, I found Ellen really annoying, but now they both bother me. The whole "Saul Thigh is a drunk" thing is old. I hated when he had to take over for Adama. I was hoping someone would kill him. Oh well, maybe a Cylon will get him.
- Speaking of Adama, why does every single person call him "the old man." Even people that look as old, or older than him to me. Shouldn't they be more formal, more respectful? He's not that old.
- Why do they call the President Roslin Madam when they call chicks "Sir?"
- Also, speaking of which, I think calling chicks "Sir" and saying the world "Frak" to replace curse-words is very clever. The whole mythology of this show is clever. I'm not really sure what the differences are between the new Battlestar Galactica and the older version are, but whoever created these things are frakkin' brilliant, in my opinion.
- After some character development, and proof that she isn't one-dimensional, Starbuck has really grown on me. At first I thought she was just the tough chick, but I've learned to like her a lot more in Season 2. In fact, I've come to really care about her character. She's one of my favorites now.
- I find myself talking outloud to the screen while watching this show a lot.
- I'm glad that Laura Roslin and William Adama have cleared up their differences. They have good chemistry.
- Admiral Cain of the Pegasus is annoying. I get it, you're an angry, cold-hearted bitch. Although, I thought I liked her at first because she was hot.
- I still can't figure out why Gaius Baltar is withholding information. That bitch told you there were 8 more cylons! Go find them!
- Why didn't Laura Roslin say anything sooner about seeing Gaius with the cylon in her dream?
- The love triangles are annoying. I don't want to see Lee Adama kissing Starbuck. She was in love with his damn brother! Then she was with that other dude on Caprica, Anders or whatever. Come on now. Also, the love triangle between Sharon "Boomer" and the Chief and Helo is fucking stupid. I don't care about romantic relationships. I care about mythology. I get angry about the same things on LOST. Please, character development is great, but everyone doesn't fall in love with eachother like that in real life. Then there's Lee Adama, and Dee and Billy. Come on! The love crap seems so lame and boring to me. All I can think when it's going on is to hope for them to get it overwith already and get to the good stuff, like blowing shit up.
- On the other side, Adama kissing President Roslin is okay with me. Old people love can slide in my book.
- Why are the some of the cylons helping them?
- What exactly are the goals and objectives of the Cylons? What do they want?
- Some of the things this season I've found a little predictable, like the cylon reporter, the cylon on the other ship being Number Six, Callie shooting Sharon, Cain and Adama both plotting to kill eachother off, Billy trying to be a hero and then dying.
- The Stealth Viper that the Chief built is awesome. I want one.
- I enjoy the music on this show a whole lot.
- I really didn't like the episode "Black Market." It seemed so out of place to me. Too much filler. What, all of a sudden Lee Adama has a chick on the side that no one knows about? And when exactly has he had time to sneak off to another ship to see her? It felt too made up, out of nowhere, so the writers could buy time until they get to the meat and potatoes of the story. Where the hell was Starbuck for that entire episode?
- Also, Lee Adama apparently shops at the Gap.
- There seems to be more filler episodes toward the end of this season than there were before.
- Kat is new on my most hated list. She's so annoying. I was really hoping that Starbuck would knock her the frak out. She just became a pilot like yesterday, she should stop undermining Starbuck. But, I was secretly also hoping they would makeout when they were getting in eachother's faces. Okay, I wasn't secretly hoping. I'm pretty sure I said it outloud.
- Why hasn't Laura Roslin added the number of people from the Pegasus to her count?
- Why is everyone that takes charge of the Pegasus a complete moron?
- Except.... APOLLO! APOLLO! APOLLO! So glad I can stop hating everyone on the Pegasus.
- It's a little convenient that only the Cylon models that we know of so far interact with eachother.
- So, Gaius Baltar has visions of Number Six and she has visions of him? How exactly does this work? And more importantly, why? Why do their visions seems to know so much?
- "All of this has happened before and all of this will happen again."
- For machines, Cylons don't exactly have the best aim.
- "Take me to your leader." That was funny.
- "I'm not a frakking Cylon!" Oh, hell no.
- Why didn't Laura Roslin just accuse Gaius Baltar of being a Cylon publicly? She has some evidence to back it up. If she had done it just short of Election Day, there wouldn't be time to test him, and even then she could claim that the test was inaccurate considering him being a Cylon. True or false, people would be too frightened to even vote for him and she'd have the Election locked up.
- I'm guessing that Gaius Baltar as President isn't going to last very long.
- Wait.. ONE YEAR LATER? What the frak?
- Adama with the mustache or Adama without the mustache?
- Where are Starbuck, Anders and everyone else for these?
- I guess Admiral Adama hasn't gone back to New Caprica for anyone yet.
- It's interesting that the Cylons are setting up a civilization, yet still killing people without a second thought. Why would they help human beings after nearly wiping out their race?
- I don't find these characters all that interesting.
- The webisodes, however, make me wonder where the hell Season 3 and 4 are going to go. I have no idea where Season 3 is going to pick up. Will Adama come back for them?
- Will Gaius Baltar be overthrown, or impeached as President?
- What exactly are the Cylons trying to accomplish?
I'm trying to avoid looking up anything on the internet about Battlestar Galactica. I've already been spoiled twice on future happenings. I'm worried I'll accidentally see something, like I did on television when just flipping through the channels. I have to hurry up and finish this show before it's ruined further for me. Although, cramming so much information from a show with a thick mythology has been pretty overwhelming, and it's been hard trying to remember all of the information, i.e. character names, ships, etc. when I'm watching it in such a short period of time. I also fear that it's going by too fast and not allowing it to sink in like others have been able to between seasons, will make me under-appreciate the show. Although, I have a feeling that it's already going to be one of my favorite television shows of all time, and I will be sad when it's over. This is going to be a test-run before the end of LOST for me.
